A few weeks ago, Kim was telling us about the opportunity he has been given to be an officiator at the Draper Temple. He told us when he would be doing it and invited us to come to that session. So this morning I decided to go. It worked out pretty good because the Jordan River Temple is closed for a few weeks and I have been wanting to go.
Kim is one of those people who doesn't' do anything half way. He goes at least 150 percent! and that is how he has been with Temple work ...he has thrown his whole heart and soul into it! It has changed his life.
I was one of the last to go into the session so when I walked in the doors and saw Kim standing there in the front, well he was just really sweet. He got the biggest smile on his face and put his hands on his heart and mouthed the words "thank you".
I got to thinking about him and what he has been through in the last five years. What an amazing change of life! If you would have met him five years ago, you would not think that was the same man that was standing there today. He has literally been through hell and back. I'm just so glad he came back.
The session was packed and they had to bring in more chairs for the sisters. There were some taking out their own endowment and an older man with an oxygen tank and a walker and Kim was running around trying to make sure everyone was comfortable. He stood up there with the most serene look on his face, even though I'm sure it's not the easiest thing with the challenges of his cerebral palsy. There was a really great spirit there and he did a perfect job.
I had the sweetest feeling the Maxine was close by and very proud of her son.
