So the Super Saturday event is this weekend!  Cindy brought me the sign up sheet so I could get going on preparing the kits for the class.
Candice is such a dear and has been right there to help me.  She even said she would come help me teach the class!  I'm so happy!
She came over Monday and we were going to go buy the supplies for it.  I went to get my patterns and realized that Cindy still had them.  Her and her family had gone out of town for the long weekend so I was out of luck till tuesday.  We decided to go get the things we knew we would need anyway.  We got hoops and muslin and batting.

We were trying to think of something she could be for Halloween too...she has some ideas but they are pretty challenging.(that hasn't stopped us yet!)  Anyway,we stopped into Harmons on the way home to pick up a few things and found this cute unicorn. She cracks me up !
She came by later this afternoon and was such a sweetheart to help me trace all the patterns  onto the muslin.  She put in the Braegger sisters cd and we sang away while we traced patterns.  Everythings funner with Candice!  After, we went to JoAnn's again to get all the floss and the rest of the supplies.  I was sure grateful she was there to help me pick out all the colors.
I worked on the packets tonight and about got them done. It's so fun that Candice and I both enjoy this passion.  It's made preparing and the anticipation of teaching this class funner X 100.  Love her so much!

We have been having the most incredible weather, way above normal October temperatures.  I wish it could go on forever.  The flowers are blooming like they haven't all summer and the garden in still flowering and producing tomatoes and peppers (please stop now!)

Anyway,  we decided to take advantage of the beautiful weather and head up fishing.  We haven't been for quite a while.
We got an early start and left home in the dark  Where it was really mild in the valley, it was freezing in the mountains.  When we were pulling into strawberry, the thermometer said 27 degrees!
When we got on the boat the outside seats all had a layer of frost on them.  Brrrrrrrrr. KC turned on the generator and got the heater going and it warmed up real nice.  I'm so grateful for a enclosed place where we can get out of the wind and cold.  When the sun came up things warmed up real quick and we didn't need to use the heater anymore.  It was a perfectly calm morning  and stayed that way all day.

We all caught fish and had such a good time, we decided to come back today!
While we were packing up some sandwiches to eat for lunch, we were talking about how it was kind of odd that I liked to fish, cause I guess most women don't.  KC asked me what I liked best about it.  I told them I liked being up there and enjoying the beauty of the lake and the mountains...  it's so peaceful up there...the only noise is from birds splashing through the water as they flap into flight. I said I like the excitement when you see your pole twitch, then grab it and feel the fish nibbling on your bait.  Then if I don't get too excited and jerk the lure right out of it's mouth, to catch it and reel it in.(then of course to let it go...I can't stand to see them die..Kelley always gets the lure out of it's mouth, I know it would take me so long, the fish would be goners).
Anyway, we had another wonderful day.  Dave Matheson came with us and he is fun to be with.  Him and Kelley are pretty much the grumpy old men fishing.  Each trying to outdo the other in trash talking.
We were all catching quite a few, but Dave, not so much.

It was even warmer today than yesterday and smooth as glass.  It was super sunny so KC had a hard time keeping his eyes open for our selfie.  Ha!

We stopped on the way out at the the little bridge to see if the salmon were spawning.  They were really going to town!  There was a lot of them swimming upstream to lay their eggs.  They get really gnarly looking with that big hook on their jaw.  It's kind of sad but fascinating to see how they struggle to get back to where they were born to lay their eggs and die.  There were a lot of them that had died and were floating there on the side of the river, while the others would push forward against the stream, then stop and rest and get washed back a ways, then push on upstream again.  Nature is cool.

The thought came to me while I was watching Kelley and KC together that even though I enjoy those other things about fishing, the thing I like most is just spending time with my guys.

Last night with Camille's family...Kate made this sweet piece for Olivia's room...pretty much sums up my feelings about the past two weeks.

I couldn't have asked for any better weather while they were here.  It's stayed in the 70's and 80's and even pleasant in the evenings.
I laid out on the trampoline with the kids and looked at the stars friday night...loved talking about heavenly things, dreams and wishes with them.

Camille and I stayed up late playing RACKO...I didn't want to go to bed cause I knew I'd have to say goodbye in the morning.
She got everything packed and loaded except the suit cases. Then Sunday morning, Kelley helped get those secured (he does not skimp on tarps, tie downs and bungee cords! Level 6 (this looks like a 10) on everything he does.)

They were up and ready to go by 6:20.  Kate was going with them to help with the kids and driving. Camille asked me to change Emily's diaper and bring her out to the car.  She always knows when I need a big hug and Emily is the best hugger I know.  She's kind of a special little soul. She will look in your eyes and put her little hands on your cheeks, then throw her arms around your neck and just squeeze you.  She has my heart and I'm missing her like crazy.  I'm grateful though cause I feel like I got the best gift ever in these two weeks.  Having them here just fills my heart and soul.

It was such a nice day on Saturday, we thought we would go over to the Wheeler Farm again.  They had all the fall decorations and things to do out this time.  But the kids mostly just wanted to milk the cow.  It was pretty cool!  I had to try it too. It was a big mama cow that was about to give birth so she was full of milk!

Benny came with us which the kids loved!

It's always a good time with these kids. Kelley had made a fire in the backyard so we could roast weenies and do smores' when we got home.  It was such a fun evening!
