This old barn has been a project waiting to happen since last fall.

Kate and Kelley talked to the owner and she was ready to get rid of it, but wanted 2000.00 for it!  She also said she thought some of her kids would maybe want it to, so just put on hold.

Well earlier this spring Kelley got a call from the owner lady and she had changed her tune.  She said none of her kids wanted any of it and would take 400.00 for it.  She mentioned that people have been picking at it a bit so it's not what it used to be.

So we decided to go take a look at it.  It's in Mapleton so we took a little drive after church.  

  

 It has a lot of good wood left on it and some really long planks and big fat timbers holding it up.  it's really tall though so that's going to be challenging.

 It looks like people have been hanging out there...piles of beer cans everywhere!

 Kate mentioned that we were going to be taking it down in one of her posts and her phone blew up with people saying "I love that barn, don't take it down! I had my wedding pictures taken there..etc." 

I think the owner realized that it's really a liability because it's so unstable now, so although sentimental, it's time for it to go.

We went back down this last week on a really cold rainy day to get a few pieces for a project that they are working on right now. It started raining pretty good as soon as we got out of the car!  So they got what they needed and we headed for home.
