KC took us to the airport early Monday morning. I wish so much him and Candice could have come with us but it just couldn't work out with their school and work schedule. Kelley and I were thinking about it, and realized we hadn't been on a trip with just us two for...well for as long as we could remember!
When we got to Cabo San Lucas, we met up with Katie. She had flown in from California and gotten there a little bit earlier. Edwardo was waiting to drive us to Los Barrillis. He was so sweet and took us right to Marks house.
Him and Kevin were waiting for us and it was great to see them. Mark showed us around at the progress he had made on the house and the yard since we had been there in June. These were some hibiscus he has planted along his front wall. They are covered in blooms like these. So beautiful!
This is the "garage-ma-hall" as Mark would call it. Started out just a basic garage for his boat, then grew into a two story building with two bathrooms, a bedroom and a palapa on top to look out over the ocean. Ha Ha He reminds me of someone else i know that can't do anything "small" It's going to be really neat! A crew of mexicans showed up every day and worked all day on it. The running joke was that every time you would ask them when something would be done, their answer was "two weeks" then everyone would laugh because you knew that wasn't going to happen. Oh and I learned something else ...when they say they are going to do something manana, that does not mean tomorrow! It can be any time in the future!
Anyway, Mark is real excited about it. He has put a lot of thought into it and designed it just the way he wants it! He kept telling us that this bedroom would be for whoever had their sweetie with them so they could have the romantical view of the ocean. I wish it was Mark who would have a sweetheart there with him. He needs someone to share this beautiful place with.(besides Kevin!)
After a good little hike, we came across this beautiful spot.
We were all so hot and sweaty from hiking(plus Katie was covered with mud from riding in Albertos Boogie) up there, we just got right in the water! It was so nice and refreshing. We swam over by the waterfall and the water coming down over the rocks was warm as could be. It was kind of a magical little place.
Kevin wasn't going to get in, but Mark shamed him into it. I love this guy! Probably one of the kindest people i know.
We saw the coolest trees that were growing right out of the rock. You could see where the roots had busted the rock apart, and other places where the tree had just grown right into the rock...these pictures don't do it justice
They have some different looking cows wandering around down there. They were all over the place, but didn't seem bothered by us...just mosied right in front of us.
Things seem to go along at a different pace in Mexico. When we got there, we were still in the hurry here, get this done, don't be late, so much to do frame of mind. It didn't take long to lose that. I took my watch off the first day and didn't care what time it was the rest of the trip. We got up with the sun and pretty much went to bed with it too. They call 8:00 baja midnight cause they roll up the sidewalks and the town shuts down. Ha! Everything moves slower and sometimes not at all!
