We got to spend a fun weekend with Katie's doctor from California. They had talked during some visits she had to his office about Utah and he said he had never been there.  She told him he ought to come see it. Then out of the blue a week or so ago, he text her that he was going to take her up on her offer to show him the sights in Utah.
He got here late Friday night and we went up fishing Saturday morning.  We were afraid it was going to be windy because Kelley, KC and Dan had gone up on Friday and they had had a terrible time because the wind was blowing so hard and the forecast was for more of the same.  But when we got up there it was really nice.  Not perfectly calm, but not too windy either.  We went over by mud creek and  weren't having much luck.  Then Kelley got out the Kreel and I thought I would try some.  I squeezed the bottle and it kind of exploded smelly kreel all over my legs and the side of the boat.  Ha!  but soon after that we all started catching so I guess that attracted them to our boat!
Garrett was a funny fisherman.  He was just sitting there all calm in the chair and you wouldn't even know he had a fish on...no sudden jerking or hollering or excitement.  All the sudden he would just be reeling one in.
He was a pretty cool guy...great to talk to and fun to be around.
Him and Kate did some hikes and sight seeing and rode the tram at Sundance.  They spent some time with our family on Sunday too which was nice.  I talked to him a bit about some problems I have and he was really helpful and gave me some things to try.  He is a general practiceoner, but leans towards natural healing. Very smart.  Katie heard about him through Colleen because she lives by him and he has been able to help Katie quite a bit with her stomach problems.
We were able to have a good visit with him while we ate dinner on Sunday and I could see why Katie thought so much of him.
He was very gracious and grateful for everything.  I hope we will get to see him again.
