Katie and Kelley have been busy ever since she got here making some really cool restored tables.  Mark had a whole stack of pallets at his wear house so after we got done with our fishing tournament, we went over there and Kevin loaded them all in the back of Kelley's truck.  When we got them home, Kelley and Katie went to town dismantling them.  All the boards they ended up with needed to be sanded so they spent many more hours doing that.  Kelley said now he knows why they charge so much for this refurbished furniture!  It's a ton of work!

Between the two of them, they have come up with some pretty cool designs.  It's neat to see them make something so beautiful out of an old pallet!

Their hope is to start a little business of building and selling restored furniture.  I think Katie has an eye for what will sell and can market it through her Urban Lilac web site.  This would be a dream come true for Kelley.  He loves doing wood work and creating something nice, and watching him and Katie work together, you can tell they are really having a great time.
This is a big leap of faith for Katie and I'm so proud of her for taking it.  Change is always scary and hard, but she is going forward and working hard with a positive attitude.  She has always been one of the bravest people I know.
