Happy Birthday to a very good man...
from a very lucky girl
Olivia was pretty excited about this picture she drew for Grampa

Candice and Camille got Kelley some heirloom tomato plants and a tai hot pepper. We found them at this cutest garden shop in sugar house called "Traces."
(Candice went with us on her lunch hour and we had a lot of fun looking around at all of the different flowers, and vegetable plants and all the other fun garden things they have there. Olivia had fun chasing their cats all over the place)
They are always so thoughtful like that and try to think of something that we are really interested in and would enjoy.
Kelley said he got a call from Kate and I could tell it really brightened his day. Those two have very similar sense of humor...actually alike in many ways.
Can't wait to see her on Friday!I got him some clothes and tickets to the James Taylor-Carol King concert that is coming in July. (Kind of like when Homer gives Marge a bowling ball with the finger holes cut just his size for her birthday....these are two of my favorite singers!) James Taylor has always been a favorite of ours. I remember listening to him (on cassette tape...oh I had the 8-track of his greatest hits too) with Kelley when we were dating and have seen him in concert a few times. And Carol King was a favorite from my Jr. high days. I think I played her Tapestry record so many times, it wore it right out.

When did that happen? Aren't we still about 32? That's what I feel like on the inside. Just don't look in the mirror.
Sunday afternoon it was so nice outside, we went out and laid on the grass. Then Candice started doing cartwheels. I thought 'I can still do that!' so I got up and tried one. Not smart.
The first one, I only got my feet about a foot off the ground, but then I felt braver and really flung myself out there. Probably a foot and a half off the ground. So now I was determined to get my legs up in the air. Candice and Camille were both pretty darn good at it...Candice was doing hand stands and she got me to do the wheel barrow. Very funny!!! (That was the dead give away that my arms are true weaklings. After about 3 steps, I went down!
It's funny how your body remembers those things that you trained it to do such a long time ago. I can still remember what it felt like to do cartwheels round offs and flips all across the lawn.
My mind is willing, but the flesh- very weak.
It was pretty comical to say the least. When I woke up Monday morning, my body let me know that even if you feel like you are 32 on the inside, it's probably not a good idea to act like it on the outside. It has been really rainy and cold the past few days so they haven't been able to work,. so Kelley spent his Birthday out in the hut working on some projects. I just have to say once again that he is pretty amazing. He works so hard to support our family and never complains about it. In fact, that is one thing he always thanks Heavenly Father for when we say our prayers...that he is able to work and has a job.
Then when he comes home from work, he keeps on working around the yard or for someone who needs some help. He is always willing to help me out with what ever ideas I come up with he will try to make me what ever I ask him to...."just get me a picture, and I'll try" I asked him for a bunch of frames for some projects I've been working on and within a few days, there they were...all beautiful and sanded and perfect! I could go on for quite a while if I started telling all the nice things he does for me. So I will just say that I'm sure grateful for him and the joy that he brings into my life. He can always make me smile...in fact it makes me smile just thinking about spending the next 50 years through eternity with him. Sure glad that you are mine!

Thanks again for a fun lunch yesterday girls! There were sure some funny moments (i.e. ice cream incident, ghetto girl from the talent agency, etc.).
