Time flies....

This past week has been pretty wonderful for me and for our whole family. It started last Wednesday when K.C. was able to have his Patriarchal blessing. The Patriarch is Cleo Wright and I have to say he has got to be one of the nicest people I know. He spent about an hour just talking to and teaching us. Then he had K.C. talk about how he felt about Kelley and I, then he had us tell how we felt about him. It was a tender moment that I will never forget. Then he gave K.C. his blessing. It was very special and specific and full of wonderful things that would come to pass if he remains faithful. K.C. has an important work to fulfill here on earth and his blessing was very specific as to what he will do. Patriarch Wright had never met or talked to K.C. before, but the things he spoke of were so specific to K.C.'s personality and character, it confirmed to me that the words the Patriarch speaks are not his own, but come straight from the Lord. He said something... or didn't say something that really stood out to me. He did NOT tell K.C. that he would "come forth in the morning of the first resurrection" He did tell him that he would live a very long life. Does that mean the he will be here when Christ comes? Everytime I think about it, I get the chills, but in a very good way. I am so happy for him and the bright future that is before him. I'm feeling pretty humble and blessed to be his mom.

Then thursday morning, we went to the Temple with K.C. It was a pretty special experience. My mom told me that being able to be in the Temple with daddy and all of us girls, was the best thing she had experienced in her life. I can sure understand what she was feeling. It was so great for me to be able to look over at Kelley and K.C. and have them smile back at me. Then when we were in the Celestial room together, surrounded by friends and family, well I'm pretty sure that this is what heaven will be like! My greatest hope is that I can have my whole family together there some day.
Thursday afternoon, Chris and Tahnie were married. It has been so cool and stormy here lately, they decided to move the wedding and reception into the church. They had everything decorated really nice though and Bishop Burns did a great job with their marriage. Stacey had asked me to play the piano for a friend of Chris's to sing "feels like home" to. She has a beautiful voice and it turned out real nice. Gordon gave them some great advice that was good for all of us to hear. I sure do hope they are happy and things go well for them. We stayed for a while after the wedding cause I was going to help with the food, but they had lots of good help, so we decided to get on our way to California. Kelley drove till about 12:30, then we stayed in Mesquite for the night. Got up really early and made it to the beach by about noon.

Very cool rainbow on the way there.

We met Kellen and Camille and Olivia at the pier. Nothing better than having Liv run up to you with arms wide open yelling "Gramma!"
Olivia telling Grampa " I am 2!"
She is such a sweetheart...very loving and tender hearted. Camille and Kellen are doing a good job teaching her to be polite and kind to everyone.

Meg is in LA right now rehearsing for Idol tour. Her and her mom and Ryder came down and played with us. Olivia had so much fun with Ryder.
They chased each other around and made up little games. Ryder would pretend to fall down and Liv would run up and say "are you ok?" and pull him back up on his feet. Then they would run some more and he would pretend to fall down again. Pretty soon, other little kids were joining in with the game. Olivia would say "what is your name?" then she would say "come play!"

I made this duck on the way down. "Where's ducky's eyes gramma?" Fwack Fwack!

There is a great fish pond at Fashion Island that the kids loved! The fish are huge!

Kelley and K.C. spent monday morning playing tennis while the girls got our nails done and went shopping. So fun!

There is a slightly pornographic mermaid statue there by the pier that Olivia fell in love with.

Chewey wrangling Olivia and Ryder to take them down to say hi to sweet lady at ice cream store.

Katie took such good care of us while we were there. Kellen, Camille, Olivia and Candice stayed at her place, and Kelley, K.C. and I stayed at the travel lodge. We hung out mostly at her house though. She had bought treats she knew we liked and made us all very comfortable. She has fixed her place up really cute .
She had taken pictures of the beach and blown them up and framed them. They looked so good, I thought she had bought them!

Good times in the seashell store.

This poor sea lion came up on shore and had a bunch of fish hooks in his fins.
The life gaurds called for help and the animal protection people came and picked him up.

Now there's a couple of babes!

So fun to be together! I miss my girls!

Deep conversations on the beach.

Olivia was so funny about getting close to the water. She will just go jump in their pool at home, but when we were getting a bucket of water out of the ocean to make a sand castle, she took off in the other direction as fast as she could go. She has a real fear of the ocean. Kelley tried to ease her closer to it on his shoulders, but when they would get by the water, she let him know she did not want to be there!

Chewey got a new swim suit!
Very cute!

Nothing better than having her fall asleep in your arms.

Candice had a hard time saying goodbye to Megan cause she will be gone for the whole summer. Candice is planning on going to Arizona to see her in the idol tour on July 20th because it just happens that her tour comes to Utah the night K.C. is getting set apart for his mission and she wants to be with him that night.

Sunday morning we went to the Dover ward with Katie. It was a really good meeting. The people there are always so friendly and make you feel welcome.
After we drove up to the Temple and walked around and took some pictures. It is so beautiful there.

Then we went to a place called Roger's Garden's
It was like walking through a paradise of beautiful flowers and trees and plants.

So much fun at the beach!

Sweet mermaid

Katie and K.C. getting in a game of chinese checkers. Being together was almost bittersweet, realizing how soon July 15 was approaching. But we enjoyed every minute we had. Katie and K.C. have a sweet relationship. She has always had a special bond with him because she spent a lot of time with him when he was growing up...she was 12 when he was born, so she became the protector of "the boy" They are a lot alike in their personalities and temperment. Both are very smart and spiritual. It seems like they understand each other's heart and what each other is going through.
Katie, Camille, Candice and K.C. all have great relationships with each other. It's so fun to all be together because they all love each other so much. Lots of hugging, talking and laughing! I think it's kind of healing to laugh together...I know I feel better after being with them!
Anyway we got up early early tuesday morning and headed home. Kelley is such a sweetheart to drive all the way without complaining while we all sleep! Arrived home to cool wet Utah (I think our desert is confused) to find mushrooms growing in the grass. It has been rainy all the time we were gone. Oh well...I guess we won't have to worry about irrigating this week...

Oh Mom! I love that you put the crab picture on here! This trip was so fun and I think you said it good with healing. Somehow being with family always makes everything going on around seem very unimportant and all that matters is that we are together.I am a lucky girl to have such a bad ass family!
