We had been waiting and watching the weather, hoping for a day without wind so we could go fishing.  This was the day!
The folks down at Las Palmas back your trailer down to the water with their back hoe and launch your boat.

Three handsome fellas right there!
We drove all over looking for a bait boat but there was none to be found.  So we were just trolling.  After a while we caught a skip jack that was kind of small, so Beto cut it up for bait.  Then we started jigging with the bait on.

We saw all kinds of sea life while we were putting along.  Whales, sea lions, a turtle and lots of jelly fish. I had never seen them up close in person like that.  They are so odd but very cool.
Then all the sudden we hear that zing and the pole goes down.  Beto was on it and knew it was something big.  He hollered at Maggie and she got hooked up into the holster to hold the pole and started reeling.  It was really fighting and we couldn't tell what it was.  Then as it got closer, we saw it was a hammerhead shark!
I was videoing the whole thing and kind of freaking out cause it was so cool!

Just as it got up to the boat, it got off the hook. Perfect!  I was a little nervous of what they would do if they had to get the lure out of it's mouth! It had big teeth! So exciting!
 Lame whale pictures.
Just a few minutes later the pole got hit again.  Beto grabbed it and hollered to me to put on the holster.  I got it on quick and started reeling.  It was really giving me fits and fighting like crazy.  I kept reeling and reeling and finally up comes another hammerhead!  They are just the strangest looking things but so awesome!  Chris was filming the whole time and Kelley got this shot right before they let it go.  Then when Chris went to show me the video, he about died...there was nothing there.  He had turned the camera off instead of on when he started to film.  He felt really bad.  It was no biggie, I was glad Kelley got one picture of it though.  Seriously one of the biggest thrills of my life!
