Monday morning Camille took us to the airport.  We were able to get tickets to Mexico for a better price from Arizona, so we decided to just go from Camille's.  She took us in plenty of time but when we got there, there was a big line for you to go through the kiosk to print your boarding passes and pay for your bags.  We finally got up there and put all our information in.  It printed our boarding passes, but wouldn't let us pay for our bags so we went and got in another line to check our bags.
When we finally got through that line, we handed the lady there all our information and told her we just needed to pay for our bags.  She got all flustered and said "wait a minute, oh you're not going to be able to go on this flight,  you are too late to check your bags."  Whhhhhhaaaat?  "And also you will have to pay 200.00 to change your flights!"She said the time allowance for checking your bag for an international flight was one hour before.  Then she looked at the clock and said oh no, this flight was set for 45 minutes limit to check your bag.  We couldn't really believe it.   Then a supervisor lady came up and looked at what had happened  cause we might have been causing a small scene.  She told the girl quietly, "don't record that you registered this flight at 45 minutes or you will get written up"  I think she must have been new cause she was really nervous and not sure of what to do.  The supervisor said "you will have to take the next flight but we won't make you pay the fee to change your flight" Wow that's nice!  So we got new boarding passes for a flight two hours later and went and had some breakfast.
Oh this lady was inspecting Kelleys backpack.  We had put all the goodies, treats, candies, nuts, and jerky in his carry on.  First of all, they set his bag aside after it went through the security check, and it sat there on a table for about 15 minutes while we just stood there.  There were employees just standing around talking and laughing but nobody was wanting to look in his bag. A ton of people came through the security line and we just stood there and waited.  Finally I went up to one of the employees and asked if they would check the bag.  She looked annoyed and said she would get to it. Seriously, by this point I was so fired up I wanted to strangle this woman.  It was like she was taking her sweet time just to get our goat.
When she finally went and got the bag, she dumped it all out on the table.  Then she picked up every item and went around all the edges with her wand.  Kelley was trying to lighten up the situation and made some jokes.  She did not think he was funny!  Ha Ha! I thought he was funny and totally love him for not being mad or saying anything rude!
Ha well there is my rant about the airport.  I know it's not a big deal at all and I love security and all that. I've just never had such a strange experience.
