So, after I auditioned to be in this singing group, they told me they would be contacting me with more information. The next day I got a schedule for all the rehearsals and the up coming performances. They practice every Wednesday night. NOOOOOOOO! I had asked Nancy about it and she had told me she thought they were going to be on Tuesday. All of our Young Women activities are on Wednesday, so that can't work. Oh man, I was so sad. I was so excited and looking forward to singing with this wonderful choir, and with Nancy and Colleen again.
So I sent Jane ( the lady I auditioned for) a email and told her I wasn't going to be able to join the choir right now. She sent me a sweet note and said she would have a place for me when ever I could come back.
When I filled out all the information for the choir, she wanted to be able to contact us and let us know what was going on on face book, so I became her friend... So now I get messages from her about every day! I'm uber jealous and coveting all the neat things they are doing.. I think I will have to un-friend her so I don't have to see her messages anymore. This is killing me.

A few more pictures from our last few fishing trips... I have a fun time just hanging around with these two...no matter what we're doing.
We stopped at the Walmart in Heber to get a few things and some worms on our way up to the lake yesterday and ran into Steve, Sherry, Lana and her family. They were headed up to Strawberry for the day too. It was so great to see them. We stood there and talked for about a half hour. We all miss them so much since they moved away... just some of my favorite people ever.
It was sure a beautiful day on the lake...but I think everyone had the same idea..there were a million boats out there too. So glad we don't have to hassle with unloading and loading the boat at the dock cause it was packed! I guess it was the last big hurrah for summertime fishing being the labor day holiday. I do love the fishing in the fall though...
Oh, this was the cool full moon that was just going down as we were driving up the canyon... it was beautiful but I blame it for our lack of catching yesterday.
Pretty leaves..

KC with a mohawk? nice! naw, it was just windy when we were coming into shore. He has been cutting his own hair ever since he got home from his mission (well he went to a great clips one time and the girl did a crappy job and he thought 'I could possibly do better myself!') ( plus he is the tightest kid I have ever met...that about killed him to spend 15 dollars for a hair cut!)
Anyway, he does a pretty good job with it.
What I wanted to say about KC though, is that he is just a great young man!
Here's some things I really like about him...
He is kind, and sweet.
He is funny! Between him and Kelley, I am either laughing or being scared or teased all day long.
He is polite and sensitive to others' feelings....This is something that will make him a good husband and father some day. He always thanks me for doing his laundry or anything else I do for him.
He eats my food! He is not picky and tells me it is good and thanks me for making it for him. This is kind of a big deal to me and I appreciate it!
I like his friends ...great kids!
He is smart.
He loves to learn new things and is not afraid to try.
He is a good person...always wants to help others out and do what is right.
He is a hard worker...like his dad.
He loves and lives the gospel....good example to us and makes us try to do better
Oh and going back to KC being a tight wad...I love that about him too! He has worked and saved every cent he makes to pay for school. He will do crappy weed pulling jobs or whatever he can find to earn more to pay for school. He sits down at the computer desk and calculates how much he will need to come up with for this semester and how he can make it work. He desperately doesn't want to ask us for money.
Just watching him these past few weeks as he started school again, I am reminded again of how lucky we are to have him in our family. Definitely not "the boy" anymore. He is The Man.

Random...
Goodbye and good riddance old draperies and blinds!
(poor blinds... chewed by bob and held together with Popsicle sticks...definitely seen better days)
Hooray! I got my new shutters! These pictures don't do them justice...they are lovely! I love how they let in so much light!
I got them for the living room, kitchen bay window and the little window over the sink. Hope to be able to get them in the rest of the windows some day.
We've got A LOT of tomato's. Been canning my brains out.
Chickens like all the tomato peels and veggies
Went visiting teaching over to Carolyn L house. She showed me how to do this cute baby blanket...gonna give it a try. Sure do love this sweet lady...reminds me so much of my mom.
First day of school! Oh my goodness I can hardly stand it. Her kindergarten goes to school all day long so that's quite an adjustment. She called me that first day after school and told me all about it. She was so excited..."my teachers name is Miss Borrowman.... but she's not a man...shes a lady". I asked her what her favorite part of school was. Recess and lunch! HA! That's a girl after my own heart!
Here she is all ready for bed with her spongies in. Wow that brings back a lot of memories...The girls slept in these most every night!

This was a cute picture of Liv at the Newport Temple when we visited this summer.
Sam in the tubby alone...this was when Liv was here at our house. I'm sure he missed his buddy in the tub...they can play for hours ( or until the water is cold)
Sam loves bananas!
Kate was able to spend some time with Camille's family while she was off work. She loves those kids like they were her own...the feeling is mutual.
Sam lovin the kitty I gave to Camille when she was a little girl. Glad I kept those old toys and dolls around.
This is Sam and I at the hosptial when he burned his arm. He's devistated. (best natured little guy I've ever seen!)
Dance party with Kate!
You don't have to coax Sam to eat. I love that about him!
Oh and when I turned over my Greg Olsen calendar to September, this was the picture that came up. I love this picture! I bought a big signed one for Camille last year at swiss days because the kids in the picture remind me so much of Liv and Sam.
Gosh I miss those kids. Sunday's are the hardest...
I love when Candice comes over to visit. Today she wanted to get up close and personal with the chickens. She had seen Liv hold the chicken, so she thought why not give it a try. I couldn't see them really loving that, but I was wrong! They don't mind it one bit! In fact this cute speckled girl just walked right up to Candice and let her pet her. Then Candice just swooped her up and held her. She didn't squawk or wiggle or try to get away. She just sat there and stared at her like soooo, what do you want me to do?
They weren't as friendly with me...I had to coax a little to get the big yellow one to come close to me. Then I picked her up and she didn't seem to mind either. They have gotten really big and fluffy. Kind of fun to hold though...awkward but fun!
Oh and did I mention they laid 8 eggs today! Amazing!
Here Chicky Chicky...
Lizzy was waiting anxiously outside the hen house when I came out. She is already so jealous of the chickens, this about gave her a fit!
So we came inside and gave Lizzy some extra attention and loves.

Had such a fun day yesterday...Kelley had Friday and Monday off for Labor day so we thought we'd go fishing. Stacey and I had talked about going to Swiss Days so we decided we might as well make a day of it!
We got up to Strawberry pretty early..it was at least 20 degrees cooler up there...kind of over cast, The water was just like glass all day though so that was nice! It warmed up when the sun came shining through the clouds.
We went out just a little way from the dock and started graphing fish like crazy, so we stopped and threw in some lines. As soon as Stacey threw her line in, she caught a great big one! Then a few minutes later, she caught another one!
A while later, I got one on my line. Stacey was going to take a picture of it with my phone but accidentally touched the screen, which made it zoom in so all she could see was my big head. I said " I will hold the fish up closer to my face so you can get it in there" So I did and the fish started flopping around and smacked me right in the face! HA! I guess he showed me!
After a while, we headed over to Swiss Days. Theres a lot of people there, but they have a shuttle bus that will take you there so you don't have to walk so far.
We got a sand which and went and sat down to watch these Swiss performers...the yodelers were singing just as we were walking in...they are so good! I was thinking how I wished mum could have seem this show...she would have loved it!
As we were leaving, we walked over to the cute farm store across from the parking lot and got some cheese and an ice cream cone. It's really beautiful up there...All the farms and the homes look like something off a post card. The leaves have already started changing ...it's still early, but they say it's been a dry summer and that made them turn earlier than usual. Made for a breath taking ride down the canyon.
My sweet Candice...At Red Iguana for her birthday dinner.
Curtis and Sarah joined us...it was a fun night!
Candice came over after work and we went and got her a new phone for her birthday. She wasn\n't due for an upgrade yet but she I schmoozed and she flirted and when we told him it was her birthday he said...hmmmm, wait a minute. He went in the back for a minute, then came out and said we could have the lowest price on any phone. HA!
So she picked one with all the bells and whistles and we went home happy! ( this was actually a secret ploy to get her to play scramble with friends with me....yes I'm addicted..really lame at it, but addicted)
When we drove past Burns house, Kara was out front. Candice leaped out of the car and they had a happy reunion. Kara and Candice grew up together and has always been a special friend to her. She is such a doll... she seriously has the most joyful spirit of anyone I know...just love her to pieces.
