We had Young Women In Excellence last week.
I just couldn't be any prouder of these girls...they really did a great job!
We decided we wanted the girls to do the planning for it so we had a meeting with our class presidency and let them throw out ideas of what they wanted it to be.
The idea of a talent show came up and they all sounded pretty excited about that so we went with it.
So they have had about two months to work on their talents or to  put together a display about something they like to do.

We had them tell us about a month ago what they had chosen for their talent so they would  kind of commit to it.  Most all of them knew right off what they wanted to do...a few had to work on their idea...( "I'm going to do a cartwheel!")  In the end, they all came up with great ideas and put on a real nice program.
Stacey did some real cute decorations that went perfect with the Arise and Shine theme.
We all sang a song Bonnie found by Janice  Kapp Perry. " I will shine!"  We only had a few weeks to learn it, but it went well.  After the meeting, the bishop asked us if we would sing it in Sacrament meeting on Sunday!
Elisabeth showed us a blanket she had made and told us about how she did it.
Tori gave a talk about how she  felt about getting her young women medallion and what it meant to her.  She was really awesome and jumped in to conduct for Mckenzie when Mckenzie couldn't get there.  I had a feeling Mckenzie wasn't going to make it in time to conduct.  She had an awards banquet for cross country at 6:00, but said she would hurry over after.  It all worked out fine though.  I love how these girls are so willing to help out.
Brielle played a real pretty piano piece
Abbi sang 'Come follow Me"  She has a real pretty voice.

Mckenzie G. showed some things she had sewn, and some awards she had received for it.  She is very talented  and mature for her age.
Mckenzie M. talked about her running what it meant to her and showed some awards she had received.
I was so glad that Destiny would come and participate.  She is not a member of the church, but comes to yw activities.  She is really a great girl!  She talked about how she enjoys being on the swim team and showed her suit and goggles.
Emily and Tori played " Love is spoken here" on their violins.  They are really good!
Abbi M. made that cute bird house out of a cedar plank
Alisha showed a pillowcase and some other things she had sewn.
Autumn showed us pictures she had drawn of clothes she had designed.  Wow!  they were amazing!

She is our newest beehive and just cute as can be.
Bishop talked at the end and did a really great job.  Him and Sherry had made each of the girls a cute handout attached to a flashlight!  Perfect!
When I got up to thank Bishop and all the girls and close the meeting, I don't know what came over me, but I was suddenly really emotional....kind of overcome with a feeling of how much Heavenly Father loves these girls and how much I love them too.
