Katie and Kelley have been busy ever since she got here making some really cool restored tables.  Mark had a whole stack of pallets at his wear house so after we got done with our fishing tournament, we went over there and Kevin loaded them all in the back of Kelley's truck.  When we got them home, Kelley and Katie went to town dismantling them.  All the boards they ended up with needed to be sanded so they spent many more hours doing that.  Kelley said now he knows why they charge so much for this refurbished furniture!  It's a ton of work!

Between the two of them, they have come up with some pretty cool designs.  It's neat to see them make something so beautiful out of an old pallet!

Their hope is to start a little business of building and selling restored furniture.  I think Katie has an eye for what will sell and can market it through her Urban Lilac web site.  This would be a dream come true for Kelley.  He loves doing wood work and creating something nice, and watching him and Katie work together, you can tell they are really having a great time.
This is a big leap of faith for Katie and I'm so proud of her for taking it.  Change is always scary and hard, but she is going forward and working hard with a positive attitude.  She has always been one of the bravest people I know.
One night we went up Millcreek canyon for a little picnic.  It was sure beautiful up there.  Everything is so green! Camille and Kellen went up earlier and found a nice spot by the river.

The kids had to test out the river water.  Yup it's cold!  Then  while we were standing there, Sam came charging at me and we both went flying into some bushes.  We both got scratched up a bit.  Sam has so much energy packed into that tiny body, sometimes he doesn't know what to do with it. I was grateful he didn't send me flying into the river!

There's nothing like a weiner cooked just right over the fire.  I like mine black and crusty.

Emily and Olivia just can't get any cuter

Olivia made a perfect marshmallow for her s'more

In honor of Grampa and Pat, the first annual fishing tournament was held the second weekend of July. Its hard to believe it's been a year since they passed away.  It seems like yesterday we were all out fishing together.
We met up with Mark, Kevin, Kim, Chris and Andrew over by mud creek and fished by them for a while.  We were having pretty good luck (well not so much me, but Kelley and KC)  Mark wasn't catching anything so they moved to a different spot.

Andrew was the only one catching anything on their boat.  Ha ha, he also caught some sticks and seaweed...(it's a shark!  get the bag!)

Looking at this picture, I could just see grampa sitting there in the boat.  He sure loved fishing and spent many a happy day up on this lake.  I wonder if there is fishing in heaven...I'd like to think there is.  As for the results of the tournament, we came out on top!  Mark was still skunked at the end of the day...I could just hear grampa chuckeling
The evening before Camille had to leave, we went up to Park City.  Candice had Benny for the day too so Olivia and him had fun together.  They get along really well.  We went to a great Mexican restaurant (where Sam took over the waiter job...he was so funny and came around and took each of our orders.  He would ask us what we wanted, then write it down (very intense writing!) then say "Nope! we don't have that!")

After dinner we walked around and the kids went on the Alpine slide.  It was such a fun night...I just love every minute with these guys.

It was pretty hot most of the time Camille was here so we were dreaming up ways to stay cool.  This happened one afternoon.  Camille is such a fun mom!  Things just get funner when she's around.
 Miss them something fierce

We got to spend a fun weekend with Katie's doctor from California. They had talked during some visits she had to his office about Utah and he said he had never been there.  She told him he ought to come see it. Then out of the blue a week or so ago, he text her that he was going to take her up on her offer to show him the sights in Utah.
He got here late Friday night and we went up fishing Saturday morning.  We were afraid it was going to be windy because Kelley, KC and Dan had gone up on Friday and they had had a terrible time because the wind was blowing so hard and the forecast was for more of the same.  But when we got up there it was really nice.  Not perfectly calm, but not too windy either.  We went over by mud creek and  weren't having much luck.  Then Kelley got out the Kreel and I thought I would try some.  I squeezed the bottle and it kind of exploded smelly kreel all over my legs and the side of the boat.  Ha!  but soon after that we all started catching so I guess that attracted them to our boat!
Garrett was a funny fisherman.  He was just sitting there all calm in the chair and you wouldn't even know he had a fish on...no sudden jerking or hollering or excitement.  All the sudden he would just be reeling one in.
He was a pretty cool guy...great to talk to and fun to be around.
Him and Kate did some hikes and sight seeing and rode the tram at Sundance.  They spent some time with our family on Sunday too which was nice.  I talked to him a bit about some problems I have and he was really helpful and gave me some things to try.  He is a general practiceoner, but leans towards natural healing. Very smart.  Katie heard about him through Colleen because she lives by him and he has been able to help Katie quite a bit with her stomach problems.
We were able to have a good visit with him while we ate dinner on Sunday and I could see why Katie thought so much of him.
He was very gracious and grateful for everything.  I hope we will get to see him again.
