This was the rest of our time in New Orleans...There was some cool historic things to see. We went to a museum that was dedicated to the hurricane Katrina. It was heartbreaking to see what the people went through there. Talking to people there about it was sad. You can still see signs of the devastation and the water marks on some buildings are hard to comprehend.
We also went into a museum that told all about mardi gras. Its such a huge deal there. People were already getting into it and it's not for another month! ( kind of hard to tell with some people if they were dressed up or if that's just what they wear all the time...I tell you the people watching there was epic Ha!)
This was another example of pan handlers there on the market square...although this one was pretty cool. This dog would lay perfectly still and really appeared to be dead for the longest time. People would put money in his box as they walked by. We watched for a while and the dog didn't move. Then finally the guy went over and scratched the dog under his chin and talked to him. The dog opened his eyes and stretched and moved around a bit...then went right back into dead dog position.
This lady's dreads were pretty awesome...you cant see them that well, but they were really long.
We took a bus ride to the other side of town and came across a LDS chapel.
Back to Cafe Du Mond for one last benet' before we got on the ship.
It was kind of cool how the port where we got on the ship was a ways up the Mississippi river. They can maneuver these gigantic boats in small places like it's no problem at all.
