Well here I am, two months behind again...Summertime months are my favorite though and so much has happened, I'll try to catch up a little.
We got to spend a wonderful week with the whole family at Newport Beach.  We haven't all been there for quite some time so it was pretty special. Get ready for picture overload (Camille's kids are so dang cute, I can't help myself)
The lady from Burr White called us a few days before and said out condo was going to be empty on Friday and we could come a day early if we'd like so we got up early and drove all day on friday.  Candice came with us and KC rode with Katie.  Camille's family got on their way from our house on Saturday morning.

Kelley and KC went to the gym Saturday morning so Candice and I went for a nice walk.  After going to the end of the sidewalk and back, we walked down to the pier to check out what the fishermen had brought in. Very stinky, but interesting.
Then of course we had to stop at the donut shop.

We couldn't wait to get out on the beach.  The whole week was very warm and sunny and even the water was warm. (not tropical warm, but warmer than it usually is!) so we went through a ton of sunscreen.
KC and Candice resumed their paddle ball competition as soon as we got there, bu this time they went way beyond anything they had done before.  They were really in the zone.  I think their highest game was 630!  Katie and I felt like we did pretty good one day when we got 430!

They are the champs for sure!

When the kids got there, they couldn't wait to get in the water. This was a great year because Sam wasn't one bit afraid of the water and Emily loved it too!  (And Olivia is just a little fish...seriously have to pry her out of the water...she would boogie board all night if she could!)

I mean really though...Emily is just too much!

We went over to Kate's old ward for church on Sunday and it was packed!    I have really never seen so many people there.  Everywhere we went that week was like that though...the beaches, sidewalks, restaurants, roads, even the pier was packed with people.  We usually go a few weeks later, so that's probably why we haven't seen it like this before. Anyway, it was a good sacrament meeting.
We wanted to do something fun for Katie's birthday, so. later that afternoon, we drove down to Montage.  Big mistake  Huge.   It was lovely when we got there, but the traffic was so bad, we just had to crawl along. Then when we got there, there was no place to park.  We finally found a place at a little park a ways away.  Even this beach, which is usually pretty quiet, was packed with people.

The kids had fun chasing the waves though

We walked down farther to the rocky part to take some pictures and look at the little fish and crabs that live in the rocks.

After dinner, we had a little celebration for Katies birthday.  The kids were pretty excited and very helpful about opening her gifts.

When we asked Katie what she wanted for her birthday she said she wanted a horse!  She has been spending a lot of time with Amanda and her horses and has found that she really loves them!  I sure wish we could have given her a horse but for now, all we could swing was a toy horse with some money attached. I have a feeling she will have her own real horse someday soon.   Emily was crazy about it and carried it around, slept with it and loved it the whole time we were there.
