I really got behind with what went on this summer so I dug out a few pictures to help me remember...
At Paul Narhwolds wedding,,,really can't believe he's married...isn't he 12?
Cleaning out the boat....Kelley and Dan got the idea that they should sell the boat so they could get something bigger??? So they brought it home, we cleaned it up real good and they took pictures and put it out there on KSL Classified and Boat trader. They have had lots of calls on it...mostly from people who live on the coast. One guy from Idaho called and said he had looked it over good online and wanted to come out and see it. We thought he must be serious about it if he was going to drive down from the pan handle of Idaho to see it. So we really cleaned it up good and had it looking really sharp when he got here. His wife and brother came with him too and they spent about an hour looking it over. In talking to the wife, we learned that they had not made a special trip to look at the boat....that they were on their way to Arizona and just passing by. After they looked it all over and talked a while, the guy said "well this deck wont be big enough for crabbing...I don't think it will work out." HA! Oh well, we got the boat really clean! I'm OK with them never selling it...I love that boat!
The garden has done really well this summer. I don't know if it's the chicken poop or the nice warm days, but the tomatoes and peppers were really happy! We made A LOT of salsa.
Fun with the YW at Silver Lake and Taylorsville pool
One night we were having a craving for something sweet and we had this big box of peaches Jenni and Reed had brought over, so I called Kelli and asked her how she had made those good peach dumpling things she had made when they were here for Lisle's funeral. It was really good to talk to her. She has been on a humanitarian trip with her church to the Philippines. Seriously going straight to heaven. My hearts been aching for her as the anniversary of Wayne's death just passed. She is trying to keep busy, but the pain is clear in her voice as she talks about him.
Anyway, KC helped roll out the dough and they turned out really yummy. KC had some friends over and they all enjoyed them warm out of the oven with a big scoop of ice cream on top.
Kelley and his brothers have been working on cleaning out their folks house the past few months. There is a life time of stuff in that house and it's going to take some time. They spent several days dividing up the things between the brothers. They did it the same as us girls did when we went through mum and daddy's things...taking turns picking. Grandma Jensen had a serious obsession with aprons. Even after they divided them up (I wish I could have been a fly on the wall as they went through all of her pretty things Ha!) they all ended up with at least 15 aprons.
Candice and KC picking the peaches. There were quite a few this year! When we got home from California, the poor tree was so weighed down with them, Kelley had to put in a big stake to hold the branch up. The birds had started getting them too...can't blame them...they were delicious! Seriously, I don't think there is a better fruit I got 14 quarts of peaches bottled.
Good times at Strawberry
The flowers I planted in the irrigation cart really struggled to get going....looked like this most of the summer. Well now it's October and they are blooming like crazy....hmmmmm
Camille and Candice helping take down the tents after the funeral luncheon. It was so wonderful to have all of the family here, even if it was for a sad occasion. And having Kelli Ann and Suzanne here was really a treat. Lots of good memories....laughing, crying, talking, working together, baking, playing games..just enjoying being together.
